Physical Description: JJ has grown quite a bit over the past months, a late-in-life growth spurt bringing him to 6' tall and has a naturally fit physique. He has dark brown hair which he has cut short and brown eyes. He usually wears beat up, comfortable hand-me-downs, though he has been known to borrow items from his boyfriend's closet.

Personality: Fierce and quick to defend himself and others. Often overly-suspicious. Once he gets to know you and befriend you few are more loyal. Though his trust is hard to earn it is equally hard to break.

JJ is a diehard horror/action/adventure movie fan and absolutely adores anything having to do with werewolves. They're, as JJ has been known to say, the shit.

Among JJ's talents, he is quite a skilled artist with pen, pencil, and similar mediums. Some of his most practiced forms can be seen in the wolves decorating his laptop.

History: Jacob James Riley was the second son to a pair who should probably not have been having children in the first place. Jimmy, as he would come to be called, never knew his father. He ran out on his mom and his brother while Jimmy was still just a baby. The infantile memories of a drunken man smacking around his mother and his big brother, though, would always remain with him. His mother was not much better off. Working some job that paid too little and she decided not to go to too often, she could more often be found spending what little money the small family had and needed on drugs or more alcohol to fuel her already raging disease, or working a street corner when she ran out of both green backs and hard liquor.

Most of the street corners around where Jimmy grew up were like that. He was born and never moved from Mobile ((fictional)), Missouri, a small city in the North Eastern region of the state famed for being a relatively busy city that no one had ever heard of or meant to find themselves in and yet found themselves there more often than they'd like. He grew up on the southern end of town, the "bad" end, where police sirens weren't heard nearly as much as they ought to and ambulance sirens were heard too much for anyone's liking.

Just about the only good thing in Jimmy's fairly miserable life thus-far was his big brother, Brad. Brad, while not the sharpest tool in the box, was an all-around good guy. And he protected his brother fiercely and loyally as the sky is blue. Brad is six years older than Jimmy.

Jimmy went to public school for his whole life, used books he borrowed from the library, got hand-me-down clothes when he really started stretching his old ones, and was fine with it. He didn't like it any more than anyone else would have. But he was okay with it. Well, when he was nine, one uneventful night, after his Mom smacked around Brad once again, she had stormed out exclaiming that she was out of cigarettes and needed a new pack. Neither boy would ever see her again, and whether she was still alive or not was as much a mystery to them as whether or not they cared. At that point, Brad dropped out of school, taking up as many jobs as he could in order to pay the bills and keep food in the house. Singlehandedly taking up the role of parent and role-model, Jimmy owes Brad just about everything he has and isn't about to deny that. Brad also worked incredibly hard to make sure Jimmy did well in school.

And when Jimmy came to Brad confused as hell and confessing that he wasn't 100% sure he was straight, Brad had nothing but respect for his little brother's honesty. But when the new policies passed, fear settled into Jimmy's heart. He'd grown up around intolerance and it was finally coming to a heading with government involvement. Brad's choice was easy. When it was between forcing his little brother to hide in shame or take some kind of pills and get surgery to change who he was, Brad didn't think twice before spending all of their savings on sending Jimmy to a safe haven.

So now Jimmy's arriving at some strange new place full of people and people with money. For the first time in his life, he's without his brother there to silently offer him complete protection. Everyone here could probably assume why he's here which was always his biggest and for the most part, only secret. He's scared shitless and totally out of his element. But he'll let hell freeze over before he lets Brad down. He'll make nice. He'll try. And to start with, he's changing his name to JJ.
